Wedding Frequently Asked Questions (work in progress)

Our goal is that this page will be a go-to resource for any questions you have that aren't already covered by our dedicated Schedule, Lodging, and Travel pages (we recommend you check them out first).  If you have a question that isn't here another guest will absolutely have the same question - please enter it into the question box at the bottom of the page!

What's the dress code?

Friday Evening, Saturday and Sunday Mornings - The majority of the weekend will be casual and outdoors.  Bring your shorts, flip-flops and casual clothes.

For the Wedding Itself - Recommended attire for the ceremony and reception is semi-formal/snappy casual.  Look good, but don't try too hard...  it's an outdoor wedding at a summer camp after all.

Examples for the Ladies:

  • Over-dressed - formal gowns
  • Under-dressed - Jeans and tee-shirt
  • Just right - A fun dress and comfortable shoes that can handle uneven ground

Examples for the Gentlemen:

  • Over-dressed - Suit and/or tie
  • Under-dressed - Jeans and tee-shirt
  • Just right - Dress shoes, khakis/slacks and a collared shirt

Can we bring the kids?

  • Yes!  The majority of attendees will be adults, however children are welcome to attend.  Look for additional details with your invitation.

Is alcohol allowed at a Summer Camp?

  • Yes, and no.  Our contract allows us and our guests to have beer and wine on campus, but no hard liquor.  Our goal is to provide plenty of delicious beer and wine for you to enjoy throughout the celebration.  If you are drinking please seriously consider staying on campus in a Bunk House.  If you are driving to a hotel after the reception find a DD beforehand and regardless of where you're sleeping - please drink responsibly.  Don't be that guy/gal!

Is there a place to change/shower after activities and before the wedding for folks staying in hotels?

  • Yes, we will have shower facilities and a bunk house open for day use of guests to change prior to the wedding.

What should I pack?

  • We are working on a packing list that will go up soon!  Stay posted.

Can we bring a tent?

  • Yes, however all guests staying on campus in a tent or bunk house will need to pay $40/night and will have access to bathroom and shower facilities in a nearby bunk house.

Can we bring our own bikes/kayaks/boats/etc?

  • Sure!  Kayaks, Canoes and Stand-up paddle-boards will be provided, but if you'd prefer to bring your own gear feel free.  We recommend if you do bring your own stuff that you also bring a way to lock it to your vehicle at night and cover it in the event of rain.  Bikes/kayaks are not permitted inside Camp Cody housing.  Lake Ossipee has a public boat launch and there will be a dock available to us, so if you are thinking of bringing a boat please confirm dock and trailer parking space with Mike and Katherine by Aug 1.

Can we bring the dog?

  • No.  Camp Cody has a strict no-dog policy in place.
